Happy birthday to Abs! My beauty of a best friend.
I'm thankful to have celebrated the last nine birthdays with her. Though 738 miles separate us, I hold my own celebration. Today, in between reading books and writing papers, I silently celebrate a friend who allows companionable silence, who knows my heart and lets me know hers, and the assurance of that friendship seeing no end.
So have the greatest of days, Abs. You deserve it! Thanks for forging into this twenty-second year before the other three of us. I hope you get to party.
Though, I'm sure it won't be as stellar as your bowling and hibachi, North Louisiana, high school birthday party.
